Dr. Qiang Zhang is the Founder of the Asian Venous Academy and the founder of Dr. Smile Medical Group, one of the pioneering physician-led medical groups in China. A highly respected vascular surgeon and a recognized leader in venous disease, Dr. Zhang has dedicated his career to advancing the field of phlebology through continuous innovation and a commitment to clinical excellence.
He previously served as Director of Vascular Surgery at three major Grade A tertiary hospitals in China, where he played a key role in shaping modern venous treatment practices. Driven by a vision to deliver patient-centered, high-quality care, Dr. Zhang transitioned beyond the traditional hospital system and successfully established one of China’s first physician group practice models.
Dr. Zhang remains deeply committed to advancing the standards of venous care globally, consistently striving for excellence in both clinical practice and medical leadership.
